44-year-old woman murdered by alleged lover
Meerut, Dec. 8 -- A horrifying incident shook the village of Puraena in Pilibhit district on Sunday morning when a 44-year-old woman was brutally murdered by a young man with whom she had a prior relationship. The accused attacked the woman with a sharp weapon, resulting in her instant death.
The deceased, identified as Manjeet Kaur, lived alone following the death of her husband, Suveg Singh. She is survived by four children - three sons and a married daughter. Villagers revealed that two of her sons live in Kanpur for work, while the youngest son resides with her sister in Punjab.
According to police, Mukesh, a resident of Naldenga village, had been in contact with Manjeet for the past three years. On Sunday, around 8 a.m., he allegedly entered her house and struck her on the head with a sharp weapon, inflicting fatal injuries.
The attack caused panic in the village, and residents immediately alerted the police. Upon receiving information, CO Prateek Dahiya and Station House Officer Ashok Pal Singh reached the scene and began investigations. The body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem.
The police have launched a detailed investigation into the case and formed teams to apprehend the accused, who is currently at large. The SHO confirmed that the case is being treated with utmost seriousness and efforts are underway to bring the perpetrator to justice....
