44-bed mother and newborn care unit launched at RSM hospital
LUCKNOW, May 4 -- Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Saturday dedicated a 44-bed mother and newborn care unit (MNCU) and paediatric ward, along with other facilities, at the Ram Sagar Mishra (RSM) Hospital.
"Providing best healthcare facility to all is the state government's priority. The MNCU is the first in state," said Pathak who is also state's health minister.
Samples collected from the CHCs will be tested at the hospital that has 100 beds for admission at present and a 24-hour emergency wing.
After the new ward and facilities are dedicated to people, it will have 144 beds.
The hospital caters to at least 250 patients in a day.
"A pathology on spoke and hub model and a jan aushadhi kendar were also launched," said Dr VK Sharma, chief medical superintendent of the hospital.
He said, "The MNCU unit is the first in state at any government hospital. The pathology is being developed on spoke-n-hub model and is connected to seven community health centres - BKT, Itaunja, Aliganj, Gudamba, Mal, Malihabad, Kakori."
Pathak said facilities at Jankipuram trauma centre too are being improved for better care.
The deputy CM also planted saplings on the hospital campus. During the event, additional director Dr GP Gupta, CMO Dr NB Singh, doctors and staff of the hospital were also present....
