PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 7 -- Four more suspects have been arrested in connection with the crude bomb attack near Latar Wali Masjid in the Bakshi Bazaar area of Atala on the night of July 8. Two arrests were made by Khuldabad police on Tuesday night while another two arrests were made on Wednesday. Police recovered a country-made pistol, live cartridges, and crude bombs from the two suspects nabbed on Tuesday night while in the two arrests made near the water tank at the ADC Ground on Wednesday, police recovered a country-made pistol, two live cartridges, and a motorcycle from the persons. Earlier, two other suspects had already been arrested while another had surrendered himself, and all were sent to jail. Police had announced a reward of Rs.25,000 on each of the 11 people named in the case. The two suspects nabbed on Tuesday night have been identified as Shera alias Shahrukh, a resident of Daira Shah Ajmal under Shahganj police station, and Maeba alias Saheba RDX alias Israel, from Malawakurd under Jhunsi police station. They were caught near the railway line in Ghanshyamnagar Colony after police received a tip-off. About arrests made on Wednesday, police said that acting on a tip-off, they apprehended Arif, a resident of Marhwa Murga Darbar of Ahmadpur Bhawa in Kareli, and Golu alias Azhar Mahmood, a resident of GTB Nagar, Kareli in connection with the July 8 night incident. Arif has prior criminal cases registered against him at Baharia, Khuldabad, and Kareli police stations, while Golu has similar records at Kareli and Khuldabad stations, officials said. DCP (City) Abhishek Bharti confirmed the four arrests and said that two others- Zeeshan from Kareli, and Anees Ahmed from Mundera in Dhumanganj - had already been caught and sent to jail while another accused Baan alias RDX from Puramufti, had surrendered in the court. Police are still looking for the remaining four suspects. The investigation has revealed that Shera's brother, Vicky, who is also a history-sheeter, had a long-running dispute with Ikhlaq, a resident of Atala. Two months before the attack, Ikhlaq had allegedly beaten up Vicky. In an act of revenge, Shera and his group went to Bakshi Bazaar on July 8. When they couldn't find Ikhlaq, they allegedly threw crude bombs in the area to cause panic and fear....
