PRAYAGRAJ, July 5 -- The construction of the third and final segment of Phase I of the Inner Ring Road project is scheduled to commence in the last week of July. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has completed all necessary preparations and finalised the agency through the tender process, said officials. In this phase, an 8.8-kilometre four-lane road will be constructed between Mirzapur Road and Rewa Road at an estimated cost of Rs.300 crore, they added. The first phase of the Ring Road is divided into three sections, covering a total of 32 kilometres from Sahson Bypass (Toll Plaza) to Lavaiyan Kala in Karachhana tehsil of Prayagraj. The tender process for the third segment was completed by the end of May, and the NHAI has begun executing the project plan. According to NHAI manager Ayush Tiwari, approximately Rs.100 crore is being disbursed to farmers as compensation for land acquisition. He added that construction of the final segment will begin before July 31. Segment-1 of Phase-1 covers a 20-kilometer stretch from Sahson Toll Plaza to Nibi Kala and Chathnag.
