4 held in jewellery shop heist; kingpin absconding
Haldwani, Jan. 5 -- Nainital police on Sunday arrested four members of a gang allegedly involved in the burglary at Radhika Jewellers in Haldwani's Mukhani area, including one suspect from Nepal, officials said. A fifth accused, believed to be the mastermind, remains absconding.
Police have recovered 54 grams of gold, 7.245 kg of silver, and the vehicle used in the crime, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Manjunath TC told reporters at a press conference.
The theft came to light on December 21, 2025, when the showroom staff reopened the store after a weekly holiday. "The thieves had broken through a wall of the showroom and decamped with around 400 grams of gold, about 25 kg of silver and Rs.25,000 in cash," the SSP said.An FIR was registered under Sections 305(A) and 331(3) of the BNS against unidentified persons.
