Rudrapur, Sept. 4 -- Four people were arrested for allegedly firing shots in a bid to intimidate their rivals in Rampura area of Rudrapur district, police said on Wednesday, adding that they have recovered country-made pistols and cartridges from their possession. Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Manikant Mishra said the arrests were made after a video of the incident surfaced on social media last week. "The clip showed four bike-borne men firing shots in the air in Rampura colony of Rudrapur. The video went viral, triggering panic in the area. Our teams verified the authenticity of the video and launched an investigation to identify the accused. It was found that the firing was carried out to threaten a rival group. All four were arrested on Tuesday evening," Mishra said.
