Lucknow, Oct. 8 -- A four-day music festival, 'Annapurneshvari' will be organised at Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya (BSV) in collaboration with Annapurna Devi Foundation and Trisaamaa Arts from Thursday. Workshops on Flute, Sitar, Sarod and classical vocal will be part of the festival besides, a film screening and concert. Common folk will be able to participate in the festival. Pandit Pradeep Barot (Sarod), Vidushi Sandhya Apte (Sitar),Vidushi Tulika Ghosh (vocal), Pandit Nityanand Haldipur accompanied by Pandit Vinod Lele and Sriram Hasbanis will impart training on the first three days of the festival from 11 am onwards. There will be a concert by Singh, Apte, Ghosh and Barot which will be held from 6pm onwards on October 11 and 12. Speaking about the festival, BS vice-chancellor Mandavi Singh said, "The programme will help students get in-depth knowledge about Maihar Gharana, and at the same time, learn new techniques that could benefit them in the long run."...
