Haridwar, May 24 -- Haridwar police on Friday arrested a 36-year-old ragpicker for allegedly murdering a four-year-old girl, whose body was discovered at the railway tunnel near Mansa Devi on May 16. The accused, Suraj alias Ganju, was absconding, police said. Addressing the media, Haridwar SSP Pramendra Dobhal said the accused was arrested near the cremation ghat on Basedi Road, Laksar. "The accused had a relationship with the minor's mother. Her husband recently found the two in a compromising position and assaulted Suraj. He then killed the girl to take revenge," he said. htc...
