Lucknow, June 5 -- The Lucknow district administration's decision to launch a rescue campaign from June 4 to 8, for homeless/helpless people, saw overwhelming response on Day One. The district administration and police department jointly conducted the campaign with the help of Apna Ghar Ashram on two routes. On route 1, the campaign was conducted in the areas from Swasthya Bhawan to Imambara, KGMU, Dubagga and route number 2 from Basantkunj, Naka to Alambagh. In today's campaign, DM Vishak G and joint police commissioner, law and order, Bablu Kumar, personally inspected the operation. The chief development officer Ajay Jain and additional deputy commissioner of police, crime, supervised the rescue operation in the areas from Basantkunj to Alambagh on route number 2. In all, 34 persons were rescued in Wednesday's campaign which included two children, four women and 28 men/elderly people. After this, the DM inspected the night shelter at Jiamau where those rescued in today's campaign have been kept. The DM directed that the rehabilitation process of those persons whose permanent residence information is obtained should be completed there and those persons who do not have information should be provided shelter at the voluntary organisation Apna Ghar Ashram....
