326 ticketless passengers caught at Utraitia railway stATION
LUCKNOW, Dec. 25 -- As part of the Northern Railways ongoing 'Mera Ticket, Mera Swabhiman' campaign, a special ticket-checking drive was conducted at Utraitia (UTR) railway station under the Lucknow division on Tuesday.
During the intensive checking, tickets were verified on trains 24204, 14307, 14210, 14215 and 20401. The drive led to the detection of 326 passengers travelling without valid tickets. Railway officials recovered Rs.22,610 as fare and imposed penalties amounting to Rs.81,500, generating a total revenue of Rs.1,04,110 for the railways, said divisional railway manager, NR Lucknow, Sunil Kumar Verma.
Senior divisional commercial manager Kuldeep Tiwari said that one ticketless passenger was handed over to the RPF for necessary legal action. The special drive was carried out under the leadership of assistant commercial manager Siddharth Shankar.
