30.3degC: An unusually warm February day
LUCKNOW, Feb. 21 -- The state capital witnessed an unusually warm February day on Friday as the day temperature crossed 30degC for the first time this season.
Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 30.3degC on Friday, 2.5 degrees above seasonal average for the first time in this season. Minimum temperature also rose to 15degC, which is 3.1 degrees above normal.
According to data, this is the earliest the temperature has crossed 30degC in February in five years. The last time it happened earlier than February 16 was in 2021, when it touched 30.4degC on February 11.
Weather forecasts show that another warm day is likely on Saturday, with clear skies and bright sunshine likely to keep the maximum around 29degC, according to weather forecasts. The night temperature will be around 14degC. Sultanpur was hottest in the state at 32.2degC which is 3.7 degrees above normal. Bahraich was no better at 31degC. Fursatganj was 30.1degC, Taj city Agra and Basti recorded 30degC each this afternoon....
