3.77 lakh girls join dialogue, 2.98 lakh enrol in self-defence clubs
Lucknow, Sept. 27 -- Under Mission Shakti 5.0, inspirational dialogues with renowned women, self-defense training, and the formation of self-defence clubs were conducted in government-run schools across Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The initiative aimed to build confidence and promote empowerment among schoolgirls.
According to officials, motivational and skill-building activities were organised across the state and, these efforts are part of the state's broader mission to equip girls with the tools and mindset to become self-reliant.
3.77 lakh girls attend dialogue sessions
Approximately 3.77 lakh girls from council and Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls Schools participated in interactive sessions where accomplished women, including senior female officers, shared their personal journeys, challenges and achievements. The sessions focused on the importance of goal-setting, perseverance and resilience.
As part of the initiative, self-defense clubs were officially launched in schools, with around 2.98 lakh girls enrolling. These clubs aim to enhance physical and mental preparedness, equipping girls with practical and effective techniques to protect themselves in emergencies.
Monica Rani, director general of school education, said, "The dialogue sessions and self-defence clubs have instilled confidence and courage in girls. This will empower them to face life's challenges and become self-reliant."
