Haldwani, Dec. 13 -- Three people, including a 1.5-year-old girl, were killed after the car they were travelling in crashed into a tree by a stretch the Kaladhungi- Bazpur highway in Nainital district early on Friday, said police. The deceased were identified as Pradeep Yadav (28), his daughter Kittu (1.5) and Rahuk Yadav (18), said police, adding that those injured included Pradeep's wife Jyoti, Rahul's brother Vivek Yadav (23) and Deepanshu. Arun Saini, inspector at Kaladhungi police station, said that the incident occurred around 7.30am. "Pradeep Yadav and Rahul Yadav died on the spot. The others were rushed to a nearby hospital," he said. The child died during treatment despite doctors' efforts, he added. The family was travelling to Nainital when the crash took place, said Saini. "The primary cause of the accident appear to be drowsiness and overspeeding, though the exact cause will be confirmed after a detailed investigation," he added. htc...
