VARANASI, Oct. 27 -- Three people, including two women, were killed and three others were injured when a car collided with a parked truck near the Yadav Nagar intersection close to Gandhona village under Rampur police station area of Jaunpur on Sunday. The occupants of the car were traveling to the Ibrahimpur area in Ambedkar Nagar district after visiting Vindhyachal temple in Mirzapur. The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to crash into a truck parked by the roadside. Circle officer of Mariyahu, Girendra Kumar Singh, said that six people were injured in the accident. All were taken to a hospital in Bhadohi, where three succumbed to their injuries during treatment. The remaining three, in critical condition, were referred to the Trauma Centre at BHU. The deceased were identified as Alok (38), Gudiya Verma 30, both residents of Pali Patti village, and Phula Devi (70), a resident of Jayanpur village in Ambedkar Nagar, he said. The injured include Abhirat (20), Manju Verma (40), and Subhash Verma (30). Locals reported that the car was speeding when the driver lost control and collided with the truck.
