3 cybercriminals arrested for duping woman of Rs 1.15lakh
PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 22 -- Cyber crime police arrested three fraudsters who while posing as police, CBI, and crime branch officers, duped a woman from Dhoomanganj area of Prayagraj of Rs 1.15 lakh through UPI in September by intimidation. Cyber police sent them to jail on Friday.
DCP (Ganganagar) and nodal incharge of Cyber Crime Kuldeep Singh Gunawat stated that on September 10, a fraudster called a woman, resident of Dhoomanganj, claiming to be 'SP, Lucknow', and threatened to send objectionable photos and videos to social media, TV channels, and newspapers, and defrauded her of Rs 1.15 lakh.
Cybercrime police registered an FIR and began investigating, revealing links to the cybercriminals in Kanpur Dehat. Police arrested the main accused, Shivmohan alias Lalu Chauhan, and Deepak Singh and Mohan Singh, from the same village. htc...
