PRAYAGRAJ, June 19 -- A joint police team arrested three of the four accused in the staged robbery of the clerks of a pulse trader in Prayagraj on Wednesday. One of the two clerks, identified as Diwakar Gupta, had planned the robbery with three associates to pay off his father's debt. Rs. 1,23,952 of the looted money was recovered from his house. According to DCP Kuldeep Singh Gunawat, three bike-borne youths had looted Rs 1,33,952 from the scooty's dicky after assaulting Diwakar Gupta and Omprakash Yadav, employees of pulse trader Amar Kesarwani, near Naharpur Tilhapur in Prayagraj at around 1 PM on June 16. Gupta himself reported the robbery via Dial 112. Kesarwani had submitted a written complaint to the police suspecting both the clerks. During the police interrogation, Gupta confessed to planning the robbery along with three friends. Yadav was not involved in this plan.The police arrested two of Gupta's associates, Sunil Kumar and Vivek Kumar, while the search is on for the third, Manish Vishwakarma.
