PRAYAGRAJ, June 5 -- Three persons have been arrested for two separate incidents of stone pelting on two Vande Bharat trains while travelling between Prayagraj to Gorakhpur. A joint team of GRP and RPF arrested the three accused. Two youths were sent to jail by GRP on Wednesday while the third accused has been nabbed and will be presented in court by RPF on Thursday. SP GRP Prashant Verma said that on Tuesday, unidentified persons pelted stones on Vande Bharat Express (22550) going from Prayagraj to Gorakhpur as soon as it passed Kunda in Pratapgarh. At that time, GRP and RPF jawans patrolling there saw the attacker and a suspicious youth was caught' After interrogation, his accomplice was also arrested by GRP. An FIR has been filed against the arrested accused identified as 33-year-old Sajjam Ali and 28-year-old Chand Ali, both residents of Achalganj Suwasi village of Unnao district, under Section 152 (malicious acts that endanger railway passengers) of the Railway Act on the complaint of the train maintenance staff. Also, Prayag RPF arrested the accused who pelted stones at Vande Bharat (22549) coming from Gorakhpur to Prayagraj. Prayag RPF in-charge RB Singh said that on June 1, unidentified persons pelted stones at the Gorakhpur-Prayagraj Vande Bharat Express between Atrampur and Ramchaura.
