PRAYAGRAJ, June 16 -- In a move aimed at improving passenger convenience, the Railway Board has approved the construction of 27 foot overbridges (FOBs) across various stations in the North Central Railway (NCR) zone during the 2025-26 financial year. These FOBs will be constructed across the Prayagraj, Jhansi, and Agra divisions. According to reports, 12 stations in the Prayagraj division, nine in the Jhansi division, and six in the Agra division have been selected for the project. Chief public relations officer (CPRO) of NCR, Amit Malviya, said that the FOBs are part of ongoing development initiatives aimed at enhancing passenger movement and safety across railway stations in the three divisions. He noted that several development works are currently underway, keeping passenger convenience in focus. The 12 stations in the Prayagraj division where FOBs will be constructed are Vindhyachal, Tundla, Manikpur, Fatehpur, Pankidham, Kanpur Anwarganj, Sonbhadra, Firozabad, Shikohabad, Mainpuri, Mirzapur and Etawah. Most of the infrastructure work in this division was completed in preparation for the Maha Kumbh. In the Jhansi division, the selected stations include Morena, Lalitpur, Dabra, Mahoba, Datia, Orai, Bhind, Tikamgarh and Chhatarpur. In the Agra division, FOBs will be constructed at Deeg, Achhnera, Kherli, Kosi Kalan, Dholpur and Raja Ki Mandi. The FOBs are expected to be completed within the stipulated timeline.
