250 hospitals under scanner for irregularities under RGHS: Govt
Jaipur, Sept. 12 -- At least 250 hospitals and pharmacies empanelled under the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) are under the scanner for their alleged irregularities, said the government in response to a question by Didwana MLA Yunus Khan.
"To ensure quality, public accountability, transparency of the scheme and to prevent irregularities in the scheme, a Quality Control and Performance Audit Cell (QC&PA Cell) has been constituted by the State Government under State Social and Performance Audit Authority (RSPAA).
The cell was assigned to conduct a thorough audit of the scheme since 2021," the Health Department stated in its reply.
According to the primary report of this cell, at least 250 hospitals were found to have used unfair means while running the scheme in their set up.
The maximum number of offenders - 78 hospitals in Jaipur- have been charged a fine of Rs.4.55 crores as penality for their alleged irregularity in the scheme followed by 25 hospitals in Jhunjhunu, which were were charged Rs.7.01 crore, 20 hospitals in Jodhpur charged Rs.3.09 crore, 13 hospitals in Alwar charged Rs.2.12 crore, and 12 hospitals in Kota were charged Rs.96.75 lakh, as per the data provided by the department....
