Rudrapur, May 30 -- A special Pocso court sentenced a 23-year-old man to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping his minor sister in Champawat district of Uttarakhand, government counsel Tanuja Verma said on Thursday. Sessions judge Anuj Kumar Sangal awarded the sentence to the man on Wednesday and also imposed a fine of Rs.2 lakh on him. Verma said, "The court sentenced a man with rigorous imprisonment on Wednesday for raping his minor sister who then got pregnant. A DNA test conducted by police established that he is the biological father of her child." She said the case came to light when the 17-year-old girl complained of stomach ache and gave birth to a child on January 29 last year in a private hospital in Tanakpur. HTC...
