LUCKNOW, Dec. 29 -- A 22-year-old MA student was killed in a road accident in Lucknow's Thakurganj area on Sunday morning while he was on his way to appear for a competitive exam, said the family. The incident took place near Gau Ghat when Mohammad Shahbaz Hussain, who was on a bike, rammed a road divider. Hussain hailed from Fatehpur in Barabanki district and was pursuing a Mufti course at Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Arabic-Persian University. In Lucknow, he lived with a friend in Vasant Kunj. According to Thakurganj station officer (SO), Shahbaz left his residence around 8 am for the examination centre when the accident occurred. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Preliminary findings suggested that the motorcycle went out of control and hit the divider, the official said and suspected that rash driving could have caused the crash.
