Lucknow, Dec. 15 -- A 21-year-old man working at a private clinic in Lucknow's Kalyanpur area was found dead on the clinic premises, following which his mother filed a complaint alleging abetment to suicide. Police on Sunday said an FIR has been registered at Gudamba police station and an investigation is underway. According to the complaint, the woman alleged that her son was subjected to prolonged mental harassment after developing a personal relationship. She claimed he was threatened with false implication in a rape case if he failed to comply with certain demands, including marriage. The complaint further alleged that pressure was exerted by multiple individuals, including the woman involved, her family members and others associated with the clinic. It was also alleged that demands for Rs.10 lakh and jewellery were made, causing the youth severe psychological distress. Family members said the youth had shared his ordeal on several occasions, expressing fear of social stigma, threats and financial pressure. Police said he was found dead inside the clinic on November 30. Confirming the development, Gudamba SHO Prabhatesh Srivastava said a case has been registered and all allegations are being verified. "The investigation is ongoing, and statements of all concerned persons are being recorded," he said....
