LUCKNOW, Dec. 9 -- A 2004 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, Anamika Singh, has applied for voluntary retirement from service (VRS), citing personal reasons, according to an officer in the Appointments Department. Her application is being assessed by the department. Once the process is completed, the VRS proposal will be sent to the central government for final approval, he said. Singh is currently posted as food commissioner and is set to retire in March 2038. She had been on central deputation for nearly eight years - from 2013 to 2021. Recently, she moved an application with the state government seeking permission to go on central deputation again. Her request is pending with the state government. In September, she was appointed divisional commissioner of Bareilly division. However, her transfer was later revoked and she was made food commissioner. During the central deputation stint from May 2013, she was posted as under secretary and deputy secretary in the ministry of human resource development. She also served as director of NITI Aayog.
