Dehradun, July 14 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Sunday that the state government has taken decisive action against corruption over the past three years, with over 200 people being booked and sent to jail for their involvement in corrupt practices. Speaking at a felicitation ceremony, organised by various religious and social organisations in Dehradun, on the efforts being made by the CM for "Corruption-Free Uttarakhand", the CM said that the event was not just a personal honour, but a celebration of the collective effort to realise the dream of a "Corruption-Free Uttarakhand." During the event, Dhami administered a public oath to uphold transparency and integrity, urging people to remain active participants in the ongoing campaign against corruption. "This honour does not belong to me alone, but to the 1.25 crore people of Uttarakhand who are advancing the state's development with honesty, transparency, and accountability," he said. Highlighting the various initiatives taken under the state's "Zero Tolerance Policy" on corruption, the CM said that public support remains the biggest strength behind this movement. "Over the past three years, with more than 200 individuals booked and sent to jail for their involvement in corrupt practices", he said. He added that the state has adopted technological interventions to ensure transparency in governance, including the online transfer system, the CM Helpline 1905 for examination monitoring and public grievance redressal, and the 1064 helpline dedicated to corruption complaints. Dhami said that the state government has taken strict action in several high-profile cases, including recruitment exam irregularities, transfer posting scandals, and bribery in development schemes. "The campaign against corruption is not a personal triumph, but a victory of public trust, the power of honesty, and the hope of the youth," he said. The chief minister said that over 24,000 people have received government jobs in the last four years. He said that the governance framework of the state had been significantly strengthened through the implementation of key reforms such as the Uniform Civil Code, anti-copying laws, and measures against forced religious conversions and riots. "These steps have proven that with a strong will, any challenge can be overcome," Dhami said. The CM said under "Operation Kalanemi," a special drive launched to crack down on impersonators and infiltrators in the state, action has been taken against 200 so far, including individuals suspected to be Bangladeshi nationals. He appealed to the public to remain alert and immediately report such elements to the police. Reiterating his commitment to clean governance, Dhami said that the state government continues to work in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mantra of "Na Khaunga, Na Khane Doonga" (I will neither take bribes nor allow others to do so). He said efforts are on to make Uttarakhand not only corruption-free but also a culturally enriched and model state in the country....
