LUCKNOW, Dec. 8 -- In two separate incidents reported within 24 hours, two Lucknow-based traders died by suicide after allegedly facing severe financial stress, according to police investigations and family statements. Bodies of both men were found hanging inside their respective commercial premises. In the first case, body of a 55-year-old trader from Para area was found hanging from a tree in an orchard in Khushhalganj on Sunday, read a press note. Police said preliminary inquiry suggests the man had been under heavy debt for some time and was battling depression, as conveyed by his family. The body was sent for postmortem, and legal proceedings have been initiated. In the second incident, a 56-year-old hardware shop owner was found dead inside his Janakipuram shop late Saturday night. Police said the man had video-called his wife moments earlier, during which she saw him hanging from an iron chain. Shocked, she alerted their son, who rushed to the shop along with neighbours.
