2 smugglers arrestedwith 1.13 kg cannabis
Haldwani, Nov. 12 -- A joint team of the police and the Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested two suspected drug smugglers in the Kathgodam area of Haldwani and recovered 1.13 kg of hashish (concentrated form of Cannabis) from their possession, police officers said on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference, Nainital Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manjunath TC said that the arrests were made following a tip-off about a drug deal being planned in the city. Acting on the information, a joint team was formed under the supervision of Haldwani Circle Officer (CO) Nitin Lohani.
The arrested accused have been identified as Sonu Sahu (25), a resident of Sahu Dharamshala, Indiranagar, and Kailash (21), a resident of Pinaro village, Bhimtal. Police recovered 607 gms of hashish from Sonu and 526 gms from Kailash.
"A case has been registered under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act. The investigation is underway to identify others," the SSP said.HTC...
