LUCKNOW, July 20 -- The UP Anti-Terrorism Squad has arrested two relatives of alleged kingpin Jalaluddin Shah alias Chhangur Baba in the Balrampur illegal religious conversion racket, confirmed additional director general (ADG), Law and Order, Amitabh Yash on Saturday. The two arrested men were identified as Mohd Sabroz alias Imran alias Buddhu (42) and Shahabuddin (36), the ADG said in a press note shared with the media. Both are residents of the kingpin's native Rehra Maafi village under Gaidas Burjurg police station limits of Balrampur district, the ADG added. Sabroz is Chhangur Baba's nephew, the ADG said. The FIR against Chhangur Baba and his associates was registered in November 2024. The duo (Mohd Sabroz and Shahabuddin) are relatives and close associates of the kingpin and actively involved in his racket, the ADG said. He stated that the duo was arrested from Balrampur and produced before the ATS court in Lucknow which sent them to judicial custody. Those named in the November FIR included Chhangur Baba, his son Mehboob, Neetu Naveen Rohra alias Nasreen, her husband Naveen Rohra alias Jamaluddin, Baba's nephew Mohd Sabroz and other relatives....
