Haldwani, May 7 -- A 17-year-old boy allegedly died by suicide in Nainital district on Wednesday, said police. The boy was rushed to hospital after he consumed a poisonous substance, said Nainital senior superintendent of police Manjunath TC. adding that he was referred to a hospital in Haldwani, where he died during treatment. The SSP said that the preliminary probe suggested that the boy lost Rs.10,000 borrowed from a friend while playing online games. A probe was underway to confirm the sequence of events that contributed to the act, he added. "The other person had been pressuring him to repay the money and had allegedly threatened to visit his home and reveal the matter to his family if the debt was not cleared," he said. "A video has also surfaced in which he is seen recounting these details," the SSP added. Manjunath said that no written complaint was received so far. "An FIR will be registered and investigation initiated once a formal complaint is filed," he added....
