16-year-old found dead in Ayodhya,foul play suspected
AYODHYA, Jan. 5 -- A 16-year-old girl was found dead near a railway track in Ayodhya on Saturday evening, with police suspecting sexual assault before her alleged murder.
The body was discovered in a drain beside the railway line, concealed in bushes. Passersby spotted the body and alerted authorities.
According to police, the girl's torn clothing and a scarf found some distance away from the body point to a possible sexual assault. Marks on her neck suggest she may have been strangled.
SP City CP Tripathi stated the exact cause of death would be determined after the postmortem report is received.
The victim's family told police she had left home in the evening to collect firewood when the alleged attack occurred in bushes along the railway line.
The girl's father, who works as a clerk in the district court, said he received news of his daughter's death while at work. "I rushed to the spot and found my daughter's body," he said.
The incident has drawn political attention, with Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad and former SP Minister Tej Narain Pandey visiting the victim's family and calling for government compensation....
