LUCKNOW, April 3 -- A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody by the Lucknow police on Thursday for allegedly sexually assaulting another minor in Aliganj. The incident surfaced after the victim's father approached the Aliganj police station on Wednesday to file a formal complaint. According to the first information report (FIR), the accused, who resides in the same locality, allegedly enticed the child to accompany him on Tuesday evening. The complainant further alleged that the teenager took the boy to a secluded spot, subjected him to sexual assault, and caused physical injuries. The accused also reportedly threatened the minor with dire consequences. Additional inspector Dinesh Kumar Singh said that a police team tracked the suspect following the complaint. "The accused was apprehended near the Teen Mazar Masjid area," the additional inspector said. According to the police, the teenager confessed to the act during questioning. The police have booked the teenager under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
