LUCKNOW, Aug. 3 -- With the rising footfall of pilgrims after the consecration of the Ram Mandir in January, the Ayodhya administration has shifted its attention to renovating 16 narrow lanes across the temple town. According to officials, the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) has submitted a Detailed Project Report (DPR) worth Rs 40 crore to the state government for approval. The proposed project aims to revamp 16 lanes, stretching a total of 24 km, which connect various parts of the town to the 13-km-long Ram Path. "The Detailed Project Report has been sent to the state government for approval. These lanes are crucial as they connect with Ram Path and ease movement from Saryu Ghat to various temple points," Ashwani Pandey, vice chairman, ADA, said. The Ram Path, which links old Faizabad (now Ayodhya city) to Ayodhya Dham, has become the town's primary route. However, the surrounding lanes remain in poor condition. As part of the project, pathways and drainage systems will also be developed to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon. Ayodhya has recorded a rise in pilgrim numbers following the consecration of the Ram Mandir on January 22, 2024....
