PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 8 -- As part of the year-long commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram, a special programme was on Friday organised at the North Central Railway (NCR) headquarters in Prayagraj, under general manager Naresh Pal Singh. Led by the GM, members of the NCR Headquarters Cultural Team, Railway Protection Force personnel, and other officers and employees collectively sang the national song. All divisions, workshops, and offices of NCR also joined the programme and participated in the singing of the national song, said NCR CPRO Shashikant Tripathi. Composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1875, the song poetically expressed India's unity, pride and devotion to the motherland, portraying the nation as a symbol of strength, prosperity, and divinity. Over time, it became a timeless emblem of national dedication and patriotism.
