14-yr-old killed, 2 hurt after two bike-borne men open fire
VARANASI, Dec. 27 -- A 14-year-old boy was killed when two motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire on a group of people in a village in the Badagaon area near here on Thursday, police said. Two men suffered bullet injuries as the assailants shot four rounds.
Sameer Singh, the 14-year-old and a Class 10 student from Rasulpur, was said to be returning home after getting a fodder-cutting machine repaired when the attack took place in the village. Ramu Yadav, from the nearby Inderpur village, his friend Abhishek Yadav and three other men were also at the spot. with three other young men, were standing roadside and were talking
A police official said Sameer intervened trying to resolve a dispute between Ramu, 35, and the two men on a bike when one of them pulled out a gun and shot four rounds before fleeing. Sameer got hit in the chest and collapsed. Ramu and Abhishek also suffered bullet wounds.
Locals informed police and admitted the injured to a nearby private hospital. Sameer was taken to a private hospital in Shivpur, from where he was referred to the BHU Trauma Center. There, Sameer was declared dead. Ramu, who suffered a bullet wound to the waist, and Abhishek, who was hit in the stomach, were also being treated at the BHU hospital. Three police teams have been formed to arrest the accused.
Sameer was the only child of his parents. His father, Banarasi, works as a security guard.
"A detailed investigation into the cause of the incident is underway. Three police teams have been formed, and CCTV footage is being examined. Some suspects have been detained and are being questioned," deputy commissioner of police Akash Patel said....
