LUCKNOW, Aug. 9 -- A 14-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped by a 24-year-old man in the Gomti Nagar Extension here, has given birth to a baby at Jhalakari Bai Hospital in Hazratganj, officials said on Friday. The teenager was admitted to the hospital on August 6, experiencing labour pains at around 12:40am. Under medical supervision, she gave birth to the baby through normal delivery at around 2:22pm. Currently, both the mother and child are stable and receiving treatment at the hospital, said Dr Rajendra Prasad, the chief medical superintendent at Jhalkari Bai Hospital. The hospital administration said that the treatment for both the mother and child would be free of cost. When the incident was reported in May earlier this year and the girl was sent for a medical examination, reports revealed that she was pregnant.
