12 more sec schools to be upgraded under PM Shri
LUCKNOW, Oct. 29 -- Twelve more state government secondary schools will be transformed into PM Shri, a scheme funded by the government of India for 2025-26. So far, 145 schools have been covered, and with these 12 additions, the total will reach 157 government secondary schools. Rs 15.91 crore has been approved for the transformation.
Under the PM Shri scheme for 2025-26, 12 government secondary schools have been selected, including two each in Meerut and Sonbhadra, and one each in Amethi, Azamgarh, Barabanki, Bahraich, Bijnor, Farrukhabad, Muzaffarnagar, and Saharanpur.
These schools will be upgraded to 'Green Schools' with features like rainwater harvesting, solar energy, waste management, organic farming, and a plastic-free environment.
They will also be equipped with modern infrastructure, including computer and science labs, digital libraries, smart classes, and adequate furniture.
In accordance with the New Education Policy 2020, PM Shri schools will provide high-quality education in a joyful environment. Under this, students will be taught using a child pedagogy-based curriculum tailored to their abilities. These schools will adopt a child-friendly, modern, and activity-based teaching approach focused on skill development and employability.
They aim to offer high-quality education and serve as model institutions for others. Each school will prepare its own annual action plan and upload it on the PM Shri portal for budget allocation, ensuring greater autonomy....
