Kanpur, Jan. 20 -- An 11-year-old boy was found murdered in a forest area near Rawatpur Panhan village in Unnao's Bihar police station area in the early hours of Monday. Police have detained a local youth in connection with the killing. The victim, the son of a local farmer, had gone missing around 5 pm on Sunday. After a frantic search by the family and local residents, his body was discovered at around 1 am in a wooded patch nearly 500 metres from the village. The needle of suspicion pointed towards a neighbour, one Jayakush Shukla, after villagers reported seeing the minor in his company earlier in the evening. Police picked up Shukla from his residence for questioning. "We have sent the body for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death," said Rahul Singh Gaur, SHO, Bihar police station. "The suspect is in custody and is being interrogated. We are looking into all possible angles, including whether the minor was sexually abused before the murder."
