11 fall sick after consuming buckwheat flour in Rudrapur
Rudrapur, March 21 -- At least eleven people including seven women fell ill after consuming buckwheat flour on Thursday in two colonies of Rudrapur in Udham Singh Nagar. They were admitted to the district hospital and were discharged in the evening on Friday.
"We have collected samples of buckwheat flour from the shops from where these people bought it. We are regularly advising people not to purchase open flour from the shop," said food safety officer of Rudrapur, Asha Arya.
11 people fell ill after consuming buckwheat flour on first day of Navratri. At midnight they felt nausea, vomit, loose motion and reached the district hospital in the morning on Friday. Doctors admitted them and started providing medical facilities.
A doctor said, "People started coming to the hospital in the morning with a complaint of feeling nausea, vomit and loose motion. They said they used buckwheat flour last night after the fast on the occasion of Navratra. We started providing medical facilities."
A man of Rampura colony who suffered illness said he bought the flour from a shop of vegetable market. His family made food from buckwheat and fell at midnight....
