PRAYAGRAJ, June 26 -- All BTech and 91% MTech students of the Indian Institute of Information Technology-Allahabad (IIIT-A) secured job offers in the recently concluded placement drive, institute officials said. While the average annual salary for BTech students stood at Rs.34 lakh, the figure for their MTech counterparts stood at Rs.17 lakh. As many as 33 BTech students received offers above Rs.60 lakh, and 60 others were offered Rs.50 lakh or more, said Munendra Ojha, the placement in-charge at IIIT-A. Ojha emphasised that this placement success was made possible through the combined efforts of students, faculty mentorship, and robust engagement from industry partners. Ajit Singh, the junior technical superintendent at the training and placement office, highlighted the strong performance of postgraduate students this year. As many as 12 MTech students from the IT and ECE branches secured offers with annual packages of Rs.45 lakh. Out of 122 MTech students, 105 received job offers. Singh added that the placement drive saw participation from hundreds of companies, both domestic and international.A BTech student secured a record-breaking annual package of Rs.1.45 crore, marking the highest placement offer in the institute's history.
