Pratapgarh, March 16 -- A 10-year-old boy died after accidentally slipping into a drain in a village in Pratapgarh on Sunday afternoon. The incident happened around 2:30 pm, police said. The boy, Raunak Saroj, had gone out with his friends to relieve himself. Afterward, he went to a nearby drain to fetch water but slipped and fell in. His friends raised an alarm and rushed to inform his family. Raunak's parents quickly reached the spot, pulled him out of the drain and took him to the nearby Community Health Centre. Doctors there declared him dead on arrival. Police reached the health centre, completed legal formalities and sent the body for postmortem examination.
