PRAYAGRAJ, June 20 -- A 10-year-old boy, Suraj Patel, a resident of Jugai-Ka-Purwa in Kadrau village under the Nawabganj police station area, was kidnapped around 8 pm on Wednesday and was recovered the following day from a relative's house in the Nawabganj locality, police said on Thursday. The family remained unaware of the incident, as Suraj had gone to sleep with his grandfather after dinner, added police. As per the information, after the kidnapping, the accused called the boy's father, Suresh, on his mobile phone around 11 pm, informed him about the abduction, and demanded a ransom of Rs.5 lakh. The kidnapper had given a deadline until Thursday morning to pay the ransom and warned the family not to inform the police, threatening dire consequences if they did. Despite the threat, the victim's father immediately contacted Nawabganj SHO Santosh Kumar and reported the incident. Shortly thereafter, CO (Kunda) Amarnath Gupta also arrived at the victim's residence. SP (Pratapgarh) Dr Anil Kumar also reached the victim's house at 4 am on Thursday and met the family members, assuring them of all possible help. Meanwhile, police teams searching for the kidnapped child traced the caller's mobile number, but it was found switched off. Based on its last known location, the police proceeded to Asthan village in Nawabganj. The kidnapped child was recovered from a house there. SHO, Nawabganj Santosh Singh said that the accused kidnapper is a relative of Suresh. Three police officers were injured on Thursday when a truck collided with their police jeep near a dhaba in Lahbariya, under the Gambhirpur police station area. The policemen, returning to Nizamabad police station after resolving a local issue, were travelling in a PRV when the incident occurred. Constable and driver Manish Tiwari ,35, and two other officers sustained minor injuries. With assistance from local villagers, they were taken to the primary health centre in Mohammadpur and later referred to the district hospital for further treatment....
