PRAYAGRAJ, March 23 -- A 10-year-old boy died after a speeding tractor collided with his bicycle near his home in Paraspur (Samapur) under Lalganj Kotwali on Sunday morning. The child, Hrithik Verma, son of Shiv Bahadur Verma, was riding along the roadside when the tractor hit him and dragged him underneath, leaving him critically injured. Family members rushed him to the Lalganj Trauma Center, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. A year after a woman died during childbirth, Kareli police have registered a named FIR against a doctor couple from Sadiyapur following a court order. The couple is accused of causing the woman's death through negligent surgery and running their hospital with fake medical degrees. According to the complaint filed by Mukesh Nishad of Unchwa Tola, he admitted his pregnant wife, Roshni, to the hospital run by Asha Nayanam and her husband, Kamal Nayanam, on February 21, 2025. After two ultrasound scans, Roshni underwent surgery but did not regain consciousness for hours after delivering a baby boy. Dr Asha later referred her to another private hospital, and when her condition worsened, she was shifted to SRN Hospital on February 25. Roshni died on February 28 during treatment. The body of Gulhasan alias Munna, a 50-year-old former village head from Misirpur in Mandhata, Pratapgarh, was recovered from a canal near Sumerpur village on Sunday morning. He had been missing since March 18 after leaving home on his motorcycle for Prayagraj. His body was found stuffed in a sack and dumped in the canal.
