Haldwani, July 17 -- A 30-year-old man died and his wife and two children sustained injuries when their scooty was hit by a truck on the Bareilly highway in the Goraparao area of Haldwani on Wednesday, police said. "The accident occurred at the Goraparao cut on the Bareilly highway, where a truck bearing registration number UK 04 CB 8022, which was carrying gas cylinders, hit the scooty from behind, causing serious injuries to all four riders," said Nitin Lohani, circle officer. "After receiving information about the accident, a police team reached the spot immediately, took possession of the body, and sent it for postmortem. The injured were rushed to a Dr Sushila Tiwari Government Hospital for treatment," he said. He further said that the deceased has been identified as Bachi Singh Sambhal alias Kannu (30), a resident of Nawarkhera in the Gaulapar area. His wife Mamta (30) and their two children - Rudransh (7) and Gauri (11) - were injured in the incident and are currently undergoing treatment....
