1,000 complaints a day as outages worsen
Lucknow, April 22 -- As temperatures soar in the city, residents are increasingly grappling with frequent power cuts, highlighting the strained infrastructure during peak summer demand. The power department's helpline is reportedly receiving over 1,000 power disruption complaints from the city.
Officials and residents acknowledge that summer and power outages have become closely linked issues in Lucknow, with rising temperatures significantly increasing electricity consumption due to heavy use of cooling appliances. However, response delays and persistent technical issues in the supply system continue to aggravate public inconvenience.
Localities affected by outages lasting up to two hours or more included Sarosa Bharosa Narayanpur (Old), Ibrahimganj, Shivri, Tikra, Krimabad, Goparamau, Ahibaranpur, Pucca Pul, Dubagga, Monarch City, Thakurganj, Napier Road, Yahiyaganj, Nadan Nagar Road, and Aishbagh, among others.
Adarsh Tripathi, a trader in Dubagga, expressed frustration over the delay in resolving complaints, stating that despite repeated calls to the helpline, restoration work often took longer than expected....
