Lucknow, Nov. 6 -- As part of the ongoing Traffic Awareness Month, city traffic police carried out an intensive enforcement drive and issued a total of 1,675 challans to motorists violating traffic rules on Wednesday. Despite daily awareness campaigns by traffic inspectors and sub-inspectors, a large number of commuters were found flouting regulations. According to official data, the violators were penalised under various sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. "Strict enforcement will continue through the month to ensure safer and smoother movement across the city," said DCP Traffick Kamlesh Dixit Appealing to the public, the DCP said, "Citizens are requested to follow traffic rules and cooperate with the traffic police to maintain a safe and orderly commuting environment."...
