'Will ensure best facilities To pilgrims for smooth travels'
Haridwar, March 27 -- State transport minister Pradeep Batra on Thursday said the state government is making extensive arrangements to ensure better facilities and smooth travel for pilgrims undertaking the Char Dham Yatra this year.
Batra said the government is focusing on providing necessary amenities to pilgrims right from the entry point of the state up to the four Himalayan shrines. Speaking about new arrangements being introduced this year, the minister said the transport department will issue green cards for commercial vehicles at Narsan, the entry point to Uttarakhand from Uttar Pradesh.
Batra said the new system will help reduce congestion and save time for vehicles travelling towards the Char Dham shrines.
"The state government is working to ensure that the Char Dham pilgrimage is conducted in a smooth manner. For this purpose, a state-of-the-art information centre will be set up at Narsan." The minister said the facility will function as an information hub where pilgrims and other stakeholders can obtain details related to the Char Dham Yatra. He said a transport department kiosk will also operate at the centre to issue green cards to vehicles heading towards the pilgrimage route....
