'Vision of developed India possible only when women are educated and skilled'
VARANASI, Sept. 28 -- Union minister of state for micro, small and medium enterprises and labour and employment Shobha Karandlaje said that women should not be confined to the kitchen and they should become economically self-reliant.
Karandlaje was addressing the "Women's Dialogue on Heritage to Development" programme, held as part of "MSME Seva Parv 2025" at the commissioner's office in Varanasi on Saturday.
While interacting with women beneficiaries from various sectors of the district, she said that women should move forward towards economic empowerment and self-reliance. She said that when a woman earns, the entire family, as well as the nation, becomes stronger.
The MoS gave detailed information about women-centric schemes of the central and state governments and appealed to women to actively participate in technical and skill training.
She said that the vision of a developed India will be realised only when women are educated and skilled.
