'UP to boost global reach of farm produce'
Lucknow, Aug. 2 -- The state minister for agricultural marketing, Dinesh Pratap Singh, said on Friday that the state was stepping up efforts to take farmers' horticultural produce to international markets. The government, he added, was focused on value addition, food processing, and helping farmers get better prices globally.
"UP mangoes fetched up to Rs800/kg in Russia, and upcoming infrastructure like Jewar Airport will further expand export capacity. Exporters and FPOs are being encouraged to align produce with global standards," in a programme here.
To support this, the horticulture department signed an MoU with AFC India Ltd (a NABARD arm) to offer single-window support - covering technical, financial, and procedural assistance. htc...
