'UP poised to lead nation in PM SVANidhi performance'
Lucknow, Oct. 25 -- A virtual review meeting on the progress of the PM Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Scheme was held under the chairmanship of Union minister for housing and urban affairs Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday. Uttar Pradesh's urban development minister AK Sharma attended the meeting, highlighting the performance of the state.
According to the latest report presented by the Union minister, the PM SVANidhi Scheme has received over 1.25 crore applications nationwide, of which 99.40 lakh have been approved and 96.58 lakh loans disbursed. Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu have emerged as the top-performing states. Khattar praised these states for their proactive implementation and urged others to emulate their success.
Minister AK Sharma, during the meeting, said that the scheme's implementation is being closely monitored across all urban local bodies in the state. "We are moving swiftly, and Uttar Pradesh will soon emerge as the top-performing state in the country under PM SVANidhi," he stated. Till August 2025, around 19.94 lakhs loans have been disbursed....
