'Take health dept to top by giving medical attention to all in need'
LUCKNOW, April 12 -- Pharmacists are a vital link in the healthcare delivery system, said deputy CM Brajesh Pathak while addressing the provincial convention and election programme of the Diploma Pharmacists Gazetted Officers Association on Saturday.
"Pharmacists provide patients with safe and accurate medications in accordance with prescriptions by doctors," said Pathak, adding that the role of a pharmacist extends beyond merely dispensing medicines. It encompasses ensuring patient safety and facilitating appropriate medical treatment.
"The doors to my house and office are always open to you," Pathak said while stating pharmacists could reach him for any issue. Pathak issued instructions to the director-general (DG) health to prepare a proposal of the demands of pharmacists and submit it to him as a memorandum. He assured that he would personally review the memorandum. During the event JK Sachan became state president, Rajiv Kanaujia was elected spokesperson, while Pradumn Singh became general secretary of the association.
"The situation in the health sector before 2017 is not hidden. We have worked hard and now we have to collectively make an effort to take our department to not just number one in Uttar Pradesh but in the country by ensuring all in need get medical attention," said Pathak.
