'SIR is essential for cleanliness of nation'
Lucknow, Dec. 6 -- Just as we bathe in the Ganga to purify our bodies and souls, we also need this campaign (SIR) for the cleanliness of our democracy, said deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Saturday.
Pathak was addressing a seminar on SIR organised by the Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar Advocates' Union, high court, Lucknow, on Advocates' Day on Friday. Pathak asserted that this special campaign was not being conducted for the first time in the country; it was also conducted in 2003. It failed due to the alliance between the then government and outside voters.
